This is a very culturally diverse city to visit that is very popular with tourists. A number of festivals can always be found along the riverfront entertainment district along with the cities port which is one of the largest in the United States. You can choose to tour the Louisiana State University and Southern University. The area around the city has several plantations that you can visit and tour with the two most popular being the Magnolia Mound Plantation and Mt. Hope Plantation.
